Building Services Engineer Residential Construction - Dublin & Cork

The Role – Building Services Engineer
As a Building Services Engineer, you will support the delivery of mechanical and electrical services across high density residential projects in Dublin. Reporting to the Building Services Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating MEP design and installation from early stage construction through to commissioning and handover.
This role is central to ensuring that all M&E systems are installed to specification, delivered in line with programme, and meet strict quality and safety standards. You will work closely with site management, design teams and subcontractors to drive seamless building services integration on complex residential schemes.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the installation and quality control of mechanical and electrical systems on residential construction projects
• Coordinate MEP services with architectural and structural elements to avoid clashes and delays
• Support site management teams with technical input and onsite problem solving
• Monitor M&E subcontractor performance, ensuring works are completed to programme and required standards
• Assist with commissioning, testing and final handover of building services systems
• Liaise with utility providers and local authorities to secure electricity, gas, water and telecom connections
• Manage temporary site services including temporary power and water supplies
• Contribute to value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives within building services
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting in line with company procedures and compliance standards
About You
• Degree or further education qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Minimum 4 years post qualification experience in a building services or MEP coordination role
• Experience working on residential construction projects, ideally high density apartments or housing developments
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems installation and commissioning
• Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors and manage programme deadlines
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
• Detail focused with a strong commitment to quality and compliance
• Self motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team
• Full driving licence and flexibility to travel across Dublin sites
