The Role Electrical Engineer
As Electrical Engineer on a major data centre project in Italy, you will take ownership of the electrical engineering cycle from design review through to commissioning and final handover. In a mission critical environment, there is no margin for error. Your role will ensure the installation matches the design, the design makes technical sense, and the systems are fully tested and compliant before going live.
You will work closely with project management, BIM, supply chain partners and specialist vendors to deliver a fully commissioned, high performance data centre facility.
Key Responsibilities
• Review electrical designs and identify technical gaps, inconsistencies and coordination issues
• Validate cable sizing, protection settings and system layouts in line with international standards
• Drive technical submittals and secure approvals in line with the project programme
• Monitor procurement schedules and ensure delivered equipment matches specifications
• Coordinate with BIM teams to ensure installations are buildable and clash free
• Track supply chain progress and align with overall construction milestones
• Conduct electrical system walk downs to confirm compliance and installation quality
• Prepare and manage test packs, FTOP documentation and O and M manuals
• Support commissioning activities and manage specialist electrical vendors
• Assist with client demonstrations, training and structured handover processes
About You
• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Experience delivering electrical packages on large scale construction projects
• Data centre or other mission critical project experience is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of electrical installation, testing and commissioning processes
• Comfortable reviewing drawings, specifications and technical calculations
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple technical workstreams
• Detail focused with a strong commitment to quality and programme delivery
• Clear communicator able to liaise with project managers, supervisors, design teams and vendors
