Their projects are known for high specification mechanical and electrical installations, complex coordination requirements, and fast-track delivery programmes within live construction environments.

The Role: Mechanical Package Manager

This Mechanical Package Manager role is based on a major data centre development in Helsinki, Finland, overseeing the delivery of a large scale mechanical package from preconstruction through to commissioning and handover.

You will take ownership of mechanical package delivery across programme management, subcontractor coordination, QA, safety, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning activities. The role requires close coordination with project management, commercial teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure all mechanical systems are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required technical standards.

This is a senior site based position suited to an experienced Mechanical Package Manager with a strong background in mission critical, industrial, pharmaceutical, or large scale construction projects.

Must Have Requirements

  • Proven experience required managing large scale mechanical packages on construction projects
  • Experience with data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, or mission critical projects is required
  • Strong background in mechanical systems installation, testing, and commissioning
  • Experience working for a main contractor or specialist mechanical contractor is required
  • Strong understanding of health and safety, QA/QC, and programme delivery
Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience on hyperscale or mission critical projects preferred
  • Design and build project experience beneficial
  • Experience managing subcontractor commercial issues and variations
  • Exposure to BIM coordination and digital project systems advantageous
Nice to Have

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
  • Overseas project experience beneficial
  • Additional health and safety or commissioning qualifications
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full mechanical package from design coordination through to commissioning and handover
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist vendors across all mechanical works
  • Drive programme delivery while maintaining quality and safety standards on site
  • Oversee installation, testing, flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning activities
  • Monitor labour, plant, materials, subcontractor performance, and package costs
  • Maintain QA documentation, snagging records, and handover documentation
  • Chair coordination meetings and provide regular progress reporting to senior management and clients
  • Manage change control, variations, and associated programme impacts
  • Support project close out including O&M manuals, QA files, and final commissioning documentation
  • Promote strong site safety culture and ensure compliance with company procedures
About You

You will come from a strong mechanical construction background with experience delivering technically complex building services packages on major projects.

You should be comfortable managing fast paced site environments, coordinating multiple subcontractors, and driving programme delivery while maintaining high engineering and safety standards.

The successful Mechanical Package Manager will be organised, commercially aware, and capable of managing both technical and operational challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
