The Role – Site Manager (Commercial Build)

As Site Manager, you will play a central role in the successful delivery of this high-profile commercial project, working with an experienced team and leading works on site from early construction through to final handover.

You will oversee daily operations, coordinate subcontractors, ensure compliance with building regulations, and maintain exceptional quality standards throughout all stages of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to programme

  • Inspect works regularly to ensure compliance with project specifications and building regulations

  • Maintain strict quality standards across all trades and phases

  • Lead and coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, and site personnel

  • Liaise with architects, engineers, surveyors, and planners throughout the build

  • Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures

  • Respond proactively to issues, incidents, or delays, ensuring minimal impact to project delivery

  • Manage procurement and requisitioning of materials, plant, and equipment

  • Attend daily briefings and maintain accurate site records and daily logs

  • Track and raise variations in conjunction with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor

  • Prepare regular progress reports and provide updates to senior management


About You
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Site Manager, ideally with a main contractor

  • Strong background across medium to large-scale commercial, industrial, pharma, or educational projects

  • 3rd-level construction qualification or trade background with relevant experience

  • Excellent organisation, planning, and time-management skills

  • Strong client-facing and communication skills

  • In-depth knowledge of construction practices, regulations, and sequencing

  • Safepass & Manual Handling certification (desirable)

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary project team
