Commissioning Manager – EP&R Projects
You are an experienced Commissioning Manager with a strong background in electrical power systems, EP&R projects and complex industrial installations, looking to take full ownership of testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on a major European project. This role offers long-term stability, international exposure, and the opportunity to lead commissioning delivery on a high-profile site-based project in Austria.

Commissioning Manager – EP&R Projects Skills: Relevant Electrical Engineering trade qualification.
Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in a commissioning or pre-commissioning role on electrical or power projects.
Strong experience overseeing inspections, testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
Proven ability to develop and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Plans and commissioning procedures.
Experience acting as the primary commissioning interface with clients, vendors and subcontractors.
Strong understanding of QA/QC processes; formal QA/QC qualification advantageous but not essential.
Experience with commissioning or quality management software systems highly desirable.
Excellent organisational, reporting and documentation skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.
Ability to lead, delegate and manage commissioning and site engineering teams.
Comfortable working in a high-pressure, site-based project environment with tight deadlines.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and report preparation.
As a Commissioning Manager – EP&R Projects: Take overall responsibility for inspections, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for the project.
Develop, implement and manage Inspection & Test Plans, Quality Plans and commissioning procedures for both direct works and subcontractors.
Prepare and review pre-commissioning plans, procedures and the subdivision of plant into systems.
Act as the lead commissioning interface with the client and vendors for the duration of the project.
Conduct inspections of ongoing installations and material deliveries to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Attend inspections with client and contractor representatives and manage inspection requests.
Coordinate site engineers in the preparation of Operating & Maintenance Manuals and contractual deliverables.
Plan and organise daily commissioning activities, assigning responsibilities for equipment and system testing.
Oversee system testing, functional performance testing and readiness for final commissioning.
Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, method statements and quality standards.
Ensure equipment calibration and certification requirements are met.
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports including inspections, non-conformances and corrective actions.
Manage non-conformance reporting and verification of corrective actions.
Support the preparation of final handover documentation including QA/QC records, test reports and commissioning dossiers.
Coordinate commissioning method statements with vendors, contractors and client representatives.
Ensure commissioning and quality management software systems are fully utilised on site.
Represent the company at site and off-site meetings.
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) both domestically and internationally as required.
Maintain full compliance with QHSE requirements across all commissioning activities.
The Package: Salary will depend on experience, but for a strong Commissioning Manager on a European EP&R project you can realistically expect:
€95,000 – €120,000 base salary
Accommodation provided for the duration of the project
Flights home provided (typically 2 per rotation period)
Company vehicle or hired car
